Removal And Installation
- Disconnect the (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the universal joint (A) after loosening the bolt (B).
Tightening torque:
32.3 - 37.2 N.m (3.3 - 3.8 kgf.m, 23.8 - 27.4 lb.ft)
- Remove the front wheel and tire.
(Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")
- Disconnect the stabilizer link (A) from the front strut assembly after loosening the nut.
Tightening torque:
98.0 - 117.6 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.7 lb.ft)
NOTE:- When loosening the nut (B), hold the stabilizer bar link stud using hex socket or wrench.
- Be careful not to damage the stabilizer link boots.
- Disconnect the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-1S100).
- Remove the split pin (A).
- Remove the castle nut (B).
Tightening torque:
34.3 - 44.1 N.m (3.5 - 4.5 kgf.m, 25.3 - 32.5 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-1S100).
- Loosen the lower arm mounting bolt and nut (A).
Tightening torque:
58.8 - 70.6 N.m (6.0 - 7.2 kgf.m, 43.4 - 52.1 lb.ft)
- Detach the front lower arm from the front knuckle using the SST (0K545-A9100).
- After removing bolts from the front knuckle, install and tighten the sub body bolt (A).
- Insert the sub body (B) between the front knuckle and the sub body bolt.
- Tighten the bolt (C) sub body to broaden the gap of the front knuckle.
- Install the main body (A) after fixing it with a wire to prevent SST from falling.
- Install the body (A) and rotate the handle (B) clockwise until the clamp is fixed on the lower arm.
- Tighten the main body bolt (A) slowly and remove the lower arm from the front knuckle.
- After removing bolts from the front knuckle, install and tighten the sub body bolt (A).
- Remove the engine room under cover.
G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
G 2.0 Nu MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Support the sub frame with a jack and then remove the roll rod bracket (A).
Tightening torque:
107.8 - 127.4 N.m (11 - 13 kgf.m, 79.5 - 94.0 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the front muffler rubber hanger (A).
- Remove the sub frame from the body by loosening the mounting bolts and nuts.
Tightening torque:
Bolts (B): 44.1 - 58.8 N.m (4.5 - 6.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 43.4 lb.ft), Bolt (C): 176.6 - 196.2 N.m (18.0 - 20.0 kgf.m, 130.1 - 144.6 lb.ft)
Nuts (D): 176.6 - 196.2 N.m (18.0 - 20.0 kgf.m, 130.1 - 144.6 lb.ft)
- Remove the stabilizer bar (A) by loosening the bolts.
Tightening torque:
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb.ft)
- Remove the heat protector (A) by loosening the bolts.
Tightening torque
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)
- Remove the steering gear box (A) by loosening the bolts.
Tightening torque
88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb.ft)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Check the wheel alignment.
