Repair Procedures: Replacement
NOTE:
Gear differential unit system does not need to be replaced for Normal Usage. If the vehicle is used for any of the Severe Usage conditions listed below, replace the 120, 000 miles. Severe usage is defined as
- Driving in rough road (Bumpy, Gravel, Snowy, Unpaved road, etc)
- Driving in mountain road, ascent/descent
- Repetition of short distance driving
- More than 50% operation in heavy city traffic during hot weather above 32°C(89.6°F).
- Police, Taxi, Commercial type operation or trailer towing, etc
- Turn off the engine and raise the vehicle on a lift.
- Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Motor System - "UNDER COVER ")
- Remove the drain plug (A) and drain all the oil. Then install the drain plug.
Tightening Torque :
45.1 - 59.8 N.m (4.6 - 6.1 kgf.m, 33.3 - 44.1 lb.ft)
NOTE: The drain plug gasket must be replaced with a new one. - Remove the oil level plug (A).
- Replenish the oil to the oil level plug hole (A).
- Install the oil level plug.
Tightening Torque :
45.1 - 59.8 N.m (4.6 - 6.1 kgf.m, 33.3 - 44.1 lb.ft)
NOTE: The oil filler plug gasket must be replaced with a new one. - Install the under cover.
