The PODS-G ECU uses vehicle information from the EMS to fix the passenger state while the vehicle is in motion.

  1. Prevention of misuse of the ALR (Automatic Locking Retractor): It prevents the system from confusing an adult passenger with a child safety seat when an adults sitting on the passenger seat mistakenly fulls off a webbing and the ALR (Automatic Locking Retractor) is turned on.
  2. Prolonged condition fixation for an adult passenger: It prevents the system from confusing an adult passenger with a child safety seat by allowing it to maintain the adult passenger condition for 5 seconds when an adult passenger moves up and down on the passenger seat while driving.

The functions above are auxiliary activities of the PODS-G system algorithm. Thus, most of the PODS-G system's functions operate normally even when there is an error in vehicle speed information. A telltale lamp does not turn on.
