Repair Procedures: Replacement

  1. Use the retrieval/reproduction/charging device to retrieve the refrigerant.
    WARNING:
    • Use the refrigerant retrieval/charge device exclusively used for the electric compressor to inject the designated refrigerant (R-1234yf) and refrigeration oil (POE). If the refrigeration oil (PAG) for the ordinary car is injected, the compressor may be damaged or a safety-related accident may occur.
  2. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to Vehicle Control System - "AUXILIARY 12V BATTERY ")

  3. Remove the battery tray.

    (Refer to Vehicle Control System - "AUXILIARY 12V BATTERY ")

  4. Remove the engine room under cover (A).

  5. After loosening the mounting nuts, remove the refrigerant line (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 - 10.8 lb.ft)

  6. After loosening the mounting bracket nuts and bolts, remove the accumulator (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 - 10.8 lb.ft)

  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
