Lateral Arm

  1. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Tires/Wheels - "WHEEL ")

  2. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  3. Remove the steering gear box.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING GEAR BOX ")

  4. Separate the front strut assembly (A) from the lateral arm by loosening the bolt and nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb.ft)

  5. Separate the lateral arm from the knuckle.
    1. Remove the split pin (A).
    2. Remove the castle nut (B) and washer (C).

      Tightening torque: 

      88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb.ft)

    3. Separate the lateral arm from the knuckle using the ball joint puller (A).

  6. Remove the lateral arm (A) from the sub frame by loosening the bolt and nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb.ft)

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  8. Check the front alignment.

    (Refer to Suspension System - "FRONT ALIGNMENT ")
