Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the LH luggage side trim.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior - "LUGGAGE SIDE TRIM ")

  3. Disconnect the ECS control unit connector (A).

  4. Remove the ECS ECU (B) by loosening the nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    3.6 - 4.0 N.m (0.37 - 0.41 kgf.m, 2.7 - 3.0 lb.ft, 32.1 - 35.6 lb.in)

  5. Remove the ECS ECU (B) and bracket (C) by loosening the nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 10.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.0 lb.ft)

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Perform the "ECS Variant Coding" by KDS following in the order below.
    1. Connect self-diagnosis connector (16pins) located under the driver side crash pad to self-diagnosis device, and then turn the self-diagnosis device after key is ON.
    2. Select the "vehicle model" and "ECS" on KDS vehicle selection screen.
    3. Select the "ECS Variant Coding" on KDS screen, then select OK.
    4. Proceed with the test according to the screen instructions.
