Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION: Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • When removing the interior trim pieces, use a plastic panel removal tool not to damage the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the front pillar trim.

    (Refer to Interior Trim - "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")

  3. Remove the cowl side trim.

    (Refer to Interior Trim - "COWL SIDE TRIM ")

  4. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Floor Console - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")

  5. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad under cover [RH] (A).

  6. Disconnect the under lamp connector (A).

  7. Remove the glove box.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "GLOVE BOX ")

  8. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  9. Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "STEERING COLUMN SHROUD PANEL ")

  10. Remove the head up display unit.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD UP DISPLAY SYSTEM ")

  11. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the AVN keyboard (A).

  12. Disconnect the connectors (A).

  13. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the AVN monitor (A).

  21. After loosening the mounting nuts and screw, remove the lower crash pad panel [LH] (A).

  22. After loosening the mounting nuts, remove the knee airbag module (A).

  23. Disconnect the knee airbag module connector (B) and light connectors (A).

  24. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the DVD player (A).

  25. Disconnect the connectors (A).

  26. After loosening the mounting bolt, nuts and screw, remove the lower crash pad panel [RH] (A).

  28. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the center speaker grill (A).

  29. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the center speaker (A).

  30. Disconnect the connectors (A).

  31. Remove the security indicator (A).

  33. After loosening the mounting bolts (A) and releasing the airbag connector locking buttons, remove the active vent connectors (B).

  34. After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  35. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
    • Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
