Repair Procedures: Replacement
CAUTION:
Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- When removing the interior trim pieces, use a plastic panel removal tool not to damage the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the front pillar trim.
(Refer to Interior Trim - "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")
- Remove the cowl side trim.
(Refer to Interior Trim - "COWL SIDE TRIM ")
- Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Floor Console - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")
- Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad under cover [RH] (A).
- Disconnect the under lamp connector (A).
- Remove the glove box.

- Remove the steering wheel.

- Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.

- Remove the head up display unit.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD UP DISPLAY SYSTEM ")
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the AVN keyboard (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the AVN monitor (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the A/C & heater controller unit (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the AVN head unit (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the crash pad upper garnish [RH] (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the crash pad upper garnish [LH] (A).
- After loosening the mounting nuts and screw, remove the lower crash pad panel [LH] (A).
- After loosening the mounting nuts, remove the knee airbag module (A).
- Disconnect the knee airbag module connector (B) and light connectors (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the DVD player (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- After loosening the mounting bolt, nuts and screw, remove the lower crash pad panel [RH] (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the center speaker grill (A).
- After loosening the mounting screws, remove the center speaker (A).
- Disconnect the connectors (A).
- Remove the security indicator (A).
- Disconnect the security lamp connector (A).
- After loosening the mounting bolts (A) and releasing the airbag connector locking buttons, remove the active vent connectors (B).
- After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, remove the main crash pad assembly (A).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Information
- Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
- Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
- Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
- Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
