Check The Fuel Pressure Control Valve

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect VMI to KDS and select "Oscilloscope".
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Perform "Actuation Test" for "Fuel Pressure Regulator"
  5. Measure signal waveform between Pin No. 2 (high) terminal of FPCV and chassis ground with VMI.
  6. Measure signal waveform between Pin No. 1 (low) terminal of FPCV and chassis ground with VMI.

  7. Does the RPS operate properly? (Check variation)

    YES 

    NO 



  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect VMI to KDS and select "Oscilloscope".
  3. Ignition "ON"., Engine "ON"
  4. Measure signal waveform between Pin No. 2 (high) terminal of FPCV connector and chassis ground with VMI.
  5. Measure signal waveform between Pin No. 1 (low) terminal of FPCV connector and chassis ground with VMI.

  6. Does the FPCV operate properly? (Check variation)

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the FPCV and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
