Manual Sensor Initiation

NOTE: In the following procedure, a Hyundai GDS with the TPMS module must be used.
NOTE: When 4 sensors have been learned as road wheels, it is not possible to learn new road wheel sensors on the same ignition cycle.
  1. Connect the diagnostic instrument (GDS) to the self-diagnostic connector (DLC) beneath the crash pad on the side of driver's seat, and then turn on the ignition to activate the diagnostic instrument.
  2. In the GDS Vehicle Type Selection menu, select "Vehicle Type" and "TPMS" System, and then opt for "OK." See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect the GDS from the DLC. The GDS will now interface with the TPMS Module wirelessly.
NOTE: The TPMS Module's red POWER LED will blink (in order) a particular number of times to indicate the position of the tire to be registered. Front left = 1 time, front right = 2 times, right rear = 3 times, left rear = 4 times.
  4. Starting with the left front tire, place the ENTER button of the TPMS module in line with the sensor valve (see Fig 2). Position the Module as close as possible to the tire. Press the ENTER button.
NOTE: The reading may take as long as 60 seconds.
  5. After a successful ID transmission, the power LED will be turned on for ten seconds and then blinks for the next tire position. Repeat procedure for remaining tires.
NOTE: If the data is not transmitted correctly, the LED will keep blinking for the current tire.
  6. Press the WRITE button after reading all of the sensor ID's.
  7. Ensure each READ ID matches each WRITE ID.
  8. After successfully registering the sensors, proceed to "Sensor Wireless Information" to ensure that the sensor functions correctly. See Fig 3.
