Repair Procedures: Replacement
- Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Loosen the bolt and then disconnect the universal joint assembly (A) from the pinion of the steering gear box.
Tightening torque:
32.4 ~ 37.3 N.m (3.3 ~ 3.8 kgf.m, 23.9 ~ 27.5lb-ft)
NOTE: Insert into the shaft so that the center of the bolt and the marketing (A) are in a straight line. - Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
Tightening torque:
88.2 ~ 107.8 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 79.5lb-ft)
CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A). - Remove the stabilizer link (A) by loosening the nut.
Tightening torque:
98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3~86.8lb-ft)
- Remove the tie rod end ball joint (C) from the knuckle using the SST (09568-34000).
- Remove the split pin (A).
- Remove the castle nut (B).
- Use the SST (09568-34000) as shown in illustrations below.
Tightening torque:
23.5 ~ 33.3 N.m (2.4 ~ 3.4 kgf.m, 17.4 ~ 24.6lb-ft)
CAUTION:- When using the SST, be sure not to damage the dust cover of lower arm ball joint.
- Keep the SST fixed to the car as there is a risk of injury if it is dropped while removing the lower arm ball joint.
- Be sure to use SST when removing the lower arm ball joint as any attempts with general tools such as lever may damage the peripheral parts.
- Loosen the bolt & nut and then remove the lower arm (A).
Tightening torque:
58.9 ~ 70.6 N.m (6.0 ~ 7.2 kgf.m, 43.4 ~ 52.1 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolt and then separate the roll rod stopper (A).
Tightening torque:
107.9 ~127.5 N.m (11.0 ~ 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 ~ 94.0lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolts & nuts and then remove the sub frame (A).
Tightening torque:
Sub frame mounting bolt & nut
156.9 ~ 176.5 N.m (16.0 ~ 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 ~ 130.2lb-ft)
- Remove the stabilizer (A) from the front sub frame by loosening the mounting bolts & nuts.
Tightening torque:
44.1 ~ 53.9 N.m (4.5 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 32.5 ~ 39.8lb-ft)
- Remove the gear box (A) from the front sub frame by loosening the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque:
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 43.4 ~ 57.9lb-ft)
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal.CAUTION:
- At all times, perform ASP calibration and EPS type recognition after assembling.
- Check the wheel Alignment.
