WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Hyundai Accent. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Connect all unit/module's connector.
- IG key "ON", Engine "OFF".
- Measure the voltage between the terminal of BCM* harness connector and Chassis Ground as below.
Item Normal Value Prerequisite condition (+) Probe ↔ (-) Probe B-CAN High Open/Short: Voltage Below 5V (1.5V~3.5V) - Ignition switch: ON
- All unit/module's connector: Connect
BCM*_"B-CAN High" ↔ Chassis Ground B-CAN Low Open/Short: Voltage BCM*_"B-CAN Low" ↔ Chassis Ground - Is the voltage within specification?
YES
- Disconnect B-CAN communication unit/module one by one and monitor DTC to find the cause.
→ If the DTC erase, substitute the unit/module with an usable one, and check for proper operation.
→ Repair or replace the harness/connector as necessary, and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
NO
- If the measured value is Battery Voltage Level (12V),
→ Repair Short between the harness and Battery Power.
- If the measured value is Ground Level (0V),
→ Repair Short between "B-CAN High" line and "B-CAN Low" line.
→ Repair Open/Poor Contact in the harness.
→ Repair Short between the harness and Chassis Ground.
NOTE: BCM*: "BCM" - Disconnect B-CAN communication unit/module one by one and monitor DTC to find the cause.
