Component Inspection: Notes

  1. Ignition switch "OFF"
  2. Connect KDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Ignition switch "ON"
  4. Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" with KDS.
  5. Clear any DTCs stored in the system with KDS.
  6. Re-check DTC in the system with KDS.
  7. Did the same DTC is stored in the system?
    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace 4WD ECU and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
    • Perform "Clutch Learning Read" in "Vehicle S/W management" with KDS before the 4WD ECU replacement.
    • Perform "Clutch Learning Write" in "Vehicle S/W management" with KDS after the 4WD ECU replacement.

    NO 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
