Signal Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to EGR VALVE CONNECTOR REMOVAL and ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) and disconnect EGR Valve and ECM/PCM connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 4 (Signal) terminal of EGR Valve harness connector and Pin No. 15 (Signal) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  5. Is measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO 

    • Repair open or short in signal circuit between EGR Valve and PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
