Monitor DTC Status

  1. Connect KDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON"
  3. Select correct Vehicle Model, Year, and Motor Type.
  4. Select BCM, SJB and SMK.(1)
  5. Select "Fault Code Searching".(2)

  6. Monitor DTCs in selected systems.

  7. Does selected system have any CAN related DTCs or failed to communicate via KDS?

    YES 

    • Repair any CAN related DTCs first and then carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, go to "WIRING INSPECTION " procedure.
    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
