Check Ignition Coil Performance

Refer to IGNITION COIL and visually and/or physically inspect following conditions:
- Damage, cracks, carbon and flashover.
- Poor connection or damaged harness.
Connect VMI to KDS/GDS and set up an oscilloscope as follow (2-channel);
Channel A (+): Pin No. 4 (Power) terminal of Ignition coil.

Channel A (-): Chassis ground

Channel B (+): Pin No. 2 (Control) terminal of Ignition coil.

Channel B (-): Chassis ground
Ignition "ON" & Engine "ON"
Specification: Refer to Fig 1

Has any problems been found?
YES
- Go to "Check Injector Performance " procedure.
NO
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the related Ignition Coil and go to "Verification Of VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
