Check MAPS Performance

  1. IG KEY "OFF".
  2. Connect CH A probe to signal terminal (Pin No. 1) of MAPS connector and CH B probe to signal terminal (Pin No. 6) of TPS connector.
  3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  4. Measure signal waveform of MAPS and TPS together by stepping on and off the accelerator pedal.

    Specification  : Refer to figure below.

  5. Does the MAPS operate properly? (Check variation)

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the MAPS and go to "Verification Of VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
