Description And Operation: Description
The immobilizer system will disable the vehicle unless the proper ignition key is used. In addition to the currently available anti-theft systems such as car alarms, the immobilizer system aims to drastically reduce the rate of auto theft.
- Transponder (TP) - IMMO ECU Communication
TP Read Protocol
- In IMMO_ECU, after ignition "ON" (or cancelling CPU reset), send challenge to TP and confirm serial number and signature.
- If response of input transponder is not correct, retry input.
- If the response of input transponder is correct, determine by referring to the code programmed in EEPROM and the data from TP.
If the codes match, input is finished.
If the codes do not match, repeat input until they match.
- If the IMMO_ECU EEPROM code is not programmed, input is finished when correct transponder is entered (CRC check OK).
- After IGN1 ON (cancelling CPU reset), the IMMO_ECU can read transponder code up to 5 times.
- If Acknowledge is received with IGN 1 ON & EMS_state=Lock, TP is re-authenticated.
- Transponder/IMMO ECU/EMS authentication
