Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
  3. Remove the driver airbag module.

    (Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")

  4. Disconnect the connector.

  5. Loosen the bolt (A) and then remove the steering wheel.

    Tightening torque: 

    39.2 - 49.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.1 lb.ft)

    CAUTION:
    • Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it; it may damage the steering column.
    • Do not reuse the bolt.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
