Signal Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF" & Disconnect Alternator connector.
- Ignition "ON".
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 1 (COM) terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure voltage between Pin No. 3 (FR) terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification :
FR - Approx 12V
COM - Approx 2.65V (PWM Signal)
- Ignition "OFF" & Disconnect PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (FR) terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : ∞
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "Component Inspection " procedure.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
