Component Inspection

■ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) Performance Inspection 

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect ECTS connector.
3. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (signal) terminal and Pin No. 1 (ground) terminal of the ECTS (component side).

   Specification:  Approx. 1.8 kΩ at 81.9°F (27°C)

4. Does the ECTS operate properly? (Check variation)

   YES 

   • Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
   • If problem still occurs, replace ECTS and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
