Component Inspection

■ Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAPS) Performance Inspection 

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Using oscilloscope, connect CH A probe to signal terminal (Pin No. 1) of MAPS connector and CH B probe to signal terminal (Pin No. 6) of TPS connector.
3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
4. Measure the MAPS and TPS signal waveform together by stepping on and off the accelerator pedal.

   Specification:  Refer to Signal Waveform & Data below

■ Confirm Part Inspection 

1. Does the MAPS operate properly? (Check variation)

   YES 

   • Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
   • If problem still occurs, replace MAPS and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
