Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. If necessary, release the wiper blade fixing clip by pulling it up and remove the wiper blade from the inside radius of wiper arm.

    Information 

    • Move the windshield glass wiper blades to the service position as follows; After turning off the engine, move the wiper switch to the single wiping (MIST) position within 20 seconds and hold the switch more than 2 seconds until the wiper blade is in the service position.
    • After turning ignition to the ON position, move the wiper switch to the single wiping (MIST) and wiper arms will return to the normal operating position.

  3. Remove the cowl top cover.

    (Refer to Body - "COWL TOP COVER (EXCEPT HEV) ")

  4. Disconnect the wiper motor connector (A).

  5. Remove the wiper motor & linkage assembly (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.

  6. Hold the wiper motor crank arm and remove the upper linkage (A).

    CAUTION: Before removing the wiper motor and linkage assembly, make sure that the linkage is stopped at auto stop position.
    To correctly install the wiper motor crank arm, check that the linkage is aligned with the crank arm in straight line and check the angle of each linkage.
    Be careful not to bend the linkage.

  7. Remove the lower linkage (A) from the wiper motor crank arm.

    CAUTION: To correctly install the wiper motor crank arm, check that the linkage is aligned with the crank arm in straight line and check the angle of each linkage.
    Be careful not to bend the linkage.
  8. Remove the crank arm (B) after loosening a nut (A).

  9. Remove the wiper motor (A) after loosening the bolts.
