Monitor KDS/GDS Data

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
  4. Perform "Write VIN" in "Vehicle S/W Management  " with KDS/GDS.
    CAUTION: Once VIN is programmed, it cannot be changed. Confirm and have VIN in hand before performing "Write VIN".

    WARNING: Confirm VIN again and input correct VIN. VIN CANNOT BE CHANGED ONCE IT IS WRITTEN ON PCM.

  5. Ignition "OFF" and then "ON".
  6. Check for "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)  " with KDS/GDS.
  7. Does P0630 present as Active?

    YES 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If the diagnostics have been performed correctly with no failure found, replace the ECM/PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
      CAUTION: When replacing the PCM, the vehicle equipped with the immobilizer must be performed procedure as below.
      [In the case of installing used PCM]
      1. Perform "PCM Neutral mode" procedure with KDS/GDS. (Refer to "IMMOBILIZER ")
      2. After finishing "PCM Neutral mode", perform "Key teaching" procedure with KDS/GDS. (Refer to "IMMOBILIZER ")

      [In the case of installing new PCM]
      Perform "Key teaching" procedure with KDS/GDS. (Refer to "IMMOBILIZER ")
      CAUTION: When replacing the PCM, the vehicle equipped with the smart key system (Button start) must be performed procedure as below.
      [In the case of installing used PCM]
      1. Perform "PCM Neutral mode" procedure with KDS/GDS. (Refer to "SMART KEY ")
      2. After finishing "PCM Neutral mode", insert the key (or press the start button) and turn it to the IGN ON and OFF position. Then the PCM learns the smart key information automatically.

      [In the case of installing new PCM]
      Insert the key (or press the start button) and turn it to the IGN ON and OFF position. Then the PCM learns the smart key information automatically.
