Ground Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to ELECTRIC EGR CONTROL VALVE and disconnect EGR Valve connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (Ground) terminal of EGR Valve harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  5. Ignition "OFF"
  6. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  7. Refer to ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) and disconnect PCM connector.
  8. Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (Ground) terminal of EGR Valve harness connector and Pin No. 36 (Ground) terminal of ECM/PCM harness

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  9. Is measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure below.

    NO
