Component Inspection

Check HO2S (S2)_DOWN Heater 

  1. IG KEY "OFF".
  2. Disconnect HO2S (S2)_DOWN connector.
  3. Measure resistance between heater power "3" and heater control terminal "4" of HO2S (S2)_DOWN (Component Side)

    Specification  :

    ITEM Specification
    Heater Resistance (Ω) Approx. 9.0Ω at 20°C (68°F)
  4. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC)
  5. Engine ON
  6. Perform "Additive Correction for O2 Sensor Heater B1S2" in the "Actuation test" with GDS
  7. Monitor "O2 Heater Bank 1 Sensor 2 Duty Cycle (LSU)" parameter on the Current Data with GDS and check if value changes.
  8. Is parameter displayed changed?

    YES 

    • Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage. So, check poor connections and the related circuit between ECM/PCM and component thoroughly. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known - good HO2S (S2)_DOWN and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace HO2S (S2)_DOWN and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
