CAN Signal Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect VMI to KDS/GDS and launch the oscilloscope
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Measure signal between Pin No. 60 (Low) terminal of ECM connector and chassis ground.
  5. Measure signal between Pin No. 77 (High) terminal of ECM connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Refer to Fig 1 below

  6. Is the measured signal waveform normal?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
