Check Short to Battery in Signal Circuit
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect the alternator and ECM connectors.
- Ignition "ON".
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 1 (COM) terminal of alternator harness connector and Pin No. 69 (LIN) terminal of ECM harness connector.
Specification: Approx. 0V
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "CHECK SHORT TO GROUND IN SIGNAL CIRCUIT " procedure.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
