System Operating Mode

  1. If engine is started with BSD switched "OFF", the "OFF" mode will be activated.
  2. If BSD is switched "ON" from "OFF", the Passive mode will be activated.
  3. If engine is started with BSD switched "ON", the Passive mode will be activated.

    * With ignition "ON", the switch is in the initial state: The last position will be kept.

    • If IGN OFF→ ON with BSD switched "ON", BSD will be activated.
    • If IGN OFF→ ON with BSD switched "OFF", BSD will be deactivated.
  4. If the engine is started with BSD switched "ON", or if BSD is switched "ON" from "OFF", the warning lamp on the door mirror will flicker for 2 to 3 seconds.

    This is to inform the driver that the BSD system is ready (provided that if the system is in Fail mode, there is no flickering).

  5. If the activation conditions (speed and curvature radius) are met while driving, Active mode will be activated (warning issued).
  6. If the activation conditions (speed and curvature radius) are not met while driving, Passive mode will be activated (warning removed).
  7. If BSD & LCA operation fails in any mode, Fail mode will be activated.
  8. If BSD & LCA operation operates normally in Fail mode, OFF mode will be activated.
  9. If BSD is switched "OFF" while BSD & LCA functions are in operation (Active/Passive), the OFF mode will be activated.
