Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Knock control signal evaluation
  1. Poor connection
  2. Open or short in signal circuit
  3. Knock sensor
Threshold Value
  • Current combustion signal evaluation not possible
  • Knock evaluation measuring window not possible
Diagnostic Time
  • Continuous
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Electrical check
Threshold Value
  • Short circuit to ground, line A
  • Short circuit to ground, line B
  • Short circuit to battery, line A
  • Short circuit to battery, line B
Diagnostic Time
  • Continuous
Case 3 DTC Strategy
  • Signal check high
Enable Conditions
  • ECT greater than 40 °C (104 °F)
  • Engine speed greater than 2440 RPM
  • Engine load greater than 35 %
Threshold Value
  • Normalized reference level less than Upper limit, f (RPM) missing RPM specification
Diagnostic Time
  • Immediate
Case 4 DTC Strategy
  • Signal check low
Enable Conditions
  • ECT greater than 40 °C (104 °F)
  • Engine speed greater than 2440 RPM
  • Engine load greater than 35 %
Threshold Value
  • Normalized reference level less than Lower limit, f (RPM) missing RPM specification

  • Immediate
