Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
NOTE:
  • When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
  • Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from damaging the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Remove the front pillar trim.

    (Proceed to Interior Trim - "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")

  2. Remove the cowl side trim.

    (Proceed to Interior Trim - "COWL SIDE TRIM ")

  3. Remove the front LCD monitor.

    (Proceed to Body Electrical System - "FRONT LCD MONITOR ")

  4. Remove the AVN head unit.

    (Proceed to Body Electrical System - "PREMIUM AUDIO/VIDEO/NAVIGATION (AVN) SYSTEM ")

  5. Remove the instrument cluster.

    (Proceed to Body Electrical System - "INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ")

  6. Remove the crash pad center panel.

    (Proceed to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD CENTER PANEL ")

  7. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Proceed to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  8. Remove the multifunction switch assembly.

    (Proceed to Body Electrical System - "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")

  9. Disconnect the head up display (HUD) unit connector (A).

  10. After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the crash pad upper panel [LH] (A).

  11. Disconnect the crash pad upper panel switch connector (A).

  12. After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the cubic unit (A).

  13. Disconnect the cubic unit connectors (A).

  14. Using a screwdriver or ornament remover, remove the center speaker grill (A).

  15. Disconnect the photo sensor connector (A) and security lamp connector (B).

  16. Disconnect the center speaker connector (A).

  17. Loosen the mounting bolts.
  18. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connectors (A).

  19. After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, then remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  20. Right before removing the main crash pad, slightly lift the main crash pad and remove the side speaker connector (A) located at the end of both side.

  21. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
