Repair Procedures: Removal
- Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and then wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
- Remove the airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")
- Remove the lock bolt (A) and remove the steering wheel.
Tightening torque:
39.2 - 49.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.2 lb.ft)
CAUTION: Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it; it may damage the steering column. - Install in the reverse order of removal.
Disassembly
- Disconnect the battery negative cable.
- Remove the steering wheel assembly.
(Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")
- Loosen the screw and then remove the paddle shift switch (A).

- Remove the paddle switch connector (A).

- Remove the steering back cover (A).
- Disconnect the connector (A) from the steering wheel remote control.

- Loosen the screw and then remove the steering wheel remote control assembly (A).
- Disconnect the heated connector and then remove the heated wire.
- Loosen the screw and then remove the steering wheel remote control (A).

- Install in the reverse order of removal.
