Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Ignition "ON" & Motor "OFF".
  3. Connect KDS/GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
  4. Using a KDS/GDS, Clear DTC.
  5. Operate the vehicle within DTC Detecting Condition in General Information. (turn right and left at least 1 time)
  6. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  7. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the EPS ECU and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or EPS ECU connector or was repaired and EPS ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
