Repair Procedures: Removal: Notes
- Remove the Ignition from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least thirty seconds before beginning work.
- Remove the floor console.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FLOOR CONSOLE ")
- Disconnect the Supplemental Restraint System Control Module (SRSCM) connector (A).
- Loosen the nuts (A) and bolt (B) and then remove the Supplemental Restraint System Control Module (SRSCM).
CAUTION:
You must remove or install SRSCM or other SRS components with the ignition switch OFF to avoid accidental airbag deployment.
Installation
- Remove the Ignition from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least thirty seconds before beginning work.
- Install the SRSCM with the SRSCM mounting nuts (A) and bolt (B).
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)
- Connect the SRSCM harness connector.
- Install the floor console.

- Reconnect the battery negative cable.
- After installing the SRSCM, confirm proper system operation:
Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
