APS2 Circuit Inspection
■ Power Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor connector.
- Ignition "ON".
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 5 (Power) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 5 V
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in power circuit, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
■ Ground Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) and ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 1 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 46 (Ground) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.
Specification: Approx. below 1 Ω
- Connect PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 1 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. below 1 Ω
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "SIGNAL CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in ground circuit, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
■ Signal Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) and ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 6 (Signal) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 64 (Signal) terminal of PCM harness connector.
Specification: Approx. below 1 Ω
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in ground circuit, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
