APS2 Circuit Inspection

■ Power Circuit Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor connector.
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Measure voltage between Pin No. 5 (Power) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. 5 V

  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO 

■ Ground Circuit Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) and ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 1 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 46 (Ground) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1 Ω

  5. Connect PCM connector.
  6. Measure resistance between Pin No. 1 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1 Ω

  7. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO 

■ Signal Circuit Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) and ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 6 (Signal) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 64 (Signal) terminal of PCM harness connector.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1 Ω

  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO
