Control Circuit Inspection
■ Open Or Short Check
- IG "OFF".
- Disconnect Brake Lamp Relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module).
- IG "ON".
- Measure voltage between DBC signal terminal of brake lamp relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 0.3V
- IG "OFF".
- Disconnect Brake Lamp Relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) and HECU harness connector.
- Measure resistance between ESS signal terminal of brake lamp relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) harness connector and ESS brake relay terminal of HECU.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- IG "ON".
- Back probe and measure voltage between Stop Lamp terminal of brake lamp relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) harness connector and chassis ground while applying/releasing brake pedal.
Specification: Apply: B+, Release: Approx. 0V
- Are the measured values within specifications?
YES
- Substitute with a known-good Brake Lamp Relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace Brake Lamp Relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) and then go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
NO
- Repair open/short in control circuit between Brake Lamp Relay (Stop Signal Electronic Module) and HECU, and then go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
