Component Inspection

  1. Cycle the ignition to "OFF" and "ON" again.
  2. Line up wheels like Fig 1).
    1. Perform the wheel alignment
    2. Line up the wheel in a straight.
    3. Go forward and backward 2~3 times without holding wheel.
  3. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)  " mode.
  4. Perform "ASP Calibration" in the "Vehicle S/W Management  " with GDS in the MDPS system.
  5. Once calibration is carried out, turn the steering wheel to lock to lock position at least once, and check for DTCs with GDS.

  6. Are any DTCs stored in the system?

    YES 

    NOTE: * In case of replacing the Steering Angle Sensor, operate "ASP Calibration" with GDS.
    * In case of replacing HECU, perform following procedures.
    1. "ASP Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction.
    2. "Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration" for Longitudinal sensor offset correction (refer to C1285 )
    3. "Variant Coding" (refer to C1702 )

    NO 

    • This fault might be intermittently caused by poor connection of the Steering Angle Sensor or Steering Angle Sensor was not calibrated. Go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
