This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated below.
Kia Service Technicians and Service Managers: The Kia Smart Battery Tester has updated with refined definitions for better customer understanding in the service lane. With these new definitions, KMA recommends turning OFF the PASS/FAIL mode. You may also notice enhancements in the settings screen: a pull down menu has replaced the scrolling wheel.
KMA and the supplier are constantly making improvements based on field suggestions to increase the user experience.

| Charge and Retest | The battery is not properly charged to determine battery condition (State of Health) with sufficient accuracy. Using the appropriate charge setting, charge battery for a minimum of four (4) hours and retest battery before returning to service. |
| Charge Required, Battery in Fair Condition | The battery is not fully charged, and less than half of useful life remains. Consider proactive replacement soon. Using the appropriate charge setting, charge battery for a maximum of four (4) hours, retest battery before returning to service. |
| Fair Condition | The battery's performance has not reached the threshold for immediate battery replacement; however the battery's useful life is less than 50%. Replacement before 0% may be advised considering the SoH%, the age of the battery, and typical use and operating environment, and the risk tolerance of the owner. Always have your battery performance evaluated during every vehicle scheduled routine maintenance tested. |
| Good Battery | The battery is healthy has useful life remaining. |
| Replace Now | The State of Health test indicates the battery had reached end of life, replace battery and retest. |
| Enter Battery Rating | The State of Health cannot be calculated until a rating is entered. Select 'Battery Rating' and enter the correct CCA value for the battery. |
