DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Target error check (Intake)
  1. Poor connection
  2. Contamination of Oil/Clog of Oil path
  3. OCV (Intake)
  4. CVVT
Enable Conditions
  • Absolute value of difference of target VVT angle and VVT angle greater than 6 deg over 2 sec
  • Engine running Time, start at ECT 70 °C (158 °F) greater than 10 sec, start at ECT -10 °C (14 °F) greater than 60 sec
  • EOT (calculated using the ECT sensor) greater than 40 °C (104 °F) and less than 125 °C (257 °F)
  • RPM: 1000~6600rpm
Threshold Value
  • Counter (Variation of VVT angle less than 3 deg) over 5 times
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Slow response check (Intake)
Enable Conditions
  • Absolute value of difference of target VVT angle and VVT angle greater than 6 deg over 2 sec
  • Engine running Time, start at ECT 70 °C (158 °F) greater than 10 sec, start at ECT -10 °C (14 °F) greater than 60 sec
  • EOT (calculated using the ECT sensor) greater than 0 °C (32 ° F) and less than 130 °C (266 °F)
  • RPM: 1000~6600rpm
Threshold Value
  • Counter (Variation of VVT angle greater than 3 deg) over 5 times
Diagnostic Time
  • Immediate
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
