TPMS Reminder Reset - Procedure 02

NOTE: In the following procedure, a TPMS sensor activation tool must be used. The manufacturer refers to their tool as a TPMS exciter scan tool.

NOTE: If tire pressure sensor is replaced, it will need to be initiated. The TPM system is not affected by wheel and tire rotation.

NOTE: Do not perform this procedure if vehicle is parked on a metal floor, roof, or on an alignment rack or lift. The metal will transfer the RF signals, which can cause the learn procedure to fail and set Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

The low tire pressure telltale illuminates when one or more tires is significantly underinflated. Indicator will go out after tires are inflated to the specified pressure. Ensure the warning light goes off (this may take up to 4 minutes if the tire is not rapidly re-inflated).

Holding TPMS exciter within 3" (76 mm) of the sensor valve, read each tire pressure sensor ID in the following order: Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right.
Connect TPMS exciter to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. Register the 4 sensor IDs to receiver. See Figure and Figure .
Disconnect TPMS exciter from diagnostic link. Cycle ignition and wait 4 minutes. Ensure "NORMAL RECEIVER STATE" is now displayed.
