- Check throttle body gasket
- Check gasket between intake manifold and surge tank.
- Check for contamination or restrictions by foreign material between intake manifold and injectors.
- Check for contamination or foreign materials between surge tank and PCSV
- Is there any air leakage?
YES
- Repair or replace as necessary, and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Go to "CHECK EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR RESTRICTIONS" as follows. (Refer to 2)
- Check for contamination and installation of gaskets.
- Check exhaust system for restrictions
- Check exhaust system for:
- Restricted or broken muffler
- Damaged catalyst

- Go to "CHECK THROTTLE VALVE FOR BINDING" as follows. (Refer to 3)
- Check exhaust system for:
- Check throttle valve for binding
- IG "OFF".
- Remove air hose between throttle body and airflow sensor.
- Check if throttle valve is stuck or binding by objects or carbon deposits.
- Is the throttle valve operating correctly?
YES
- If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the PCM/ECM, and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

- After removing foreign material, check throttle valve operation. If replacing TPS and ETC throttle assembly, perform "PROCEDURE FOR ETC INITIALIZATION" below. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR "
* Procedure for ETC Initialization
- Erase DTCs on PCM.
- Turn the ignition key off until the main relay is turned off (will take 10 sec.).
- Turn ignition key on for more than 1 sec. to record the throttle motor position on the EEPROM.
