SERVICE INFORMATION
Some 2012-2017MY Rio (UB) vehicles may exhibit a shifter that will intermittently not shift out of Park. This could be caused by a poor ground at the rear combination lamps. If you encounter a vehicle with this concern, inspect grounds GF01 and GF02, all back-up lamp, stop lamp, and tail lamp bulbs and sockets, and brake and solenoid inputs. GF01 and GF02 are located behind the lower C-pillar trim on either side. If the vehicle continues to not shift out of park after confirming good GF01 and GF02 grounds, bulbs and sockets, and brake and solenoid inputs, open a Techline case.
