Component Inspection
- IG 'OFF'.
- Connect prove to signal terminal as below and select 'Oscilloscope' menu on GDS.
Channel A (+): Signal terminal of P/S pressure sensor, (-): Ground.
- Engine start and check the signal with operation.
INTERVAL (1) : The signal at the Power Steering halt
INTERVAL (2) : The normal performance signal including Most of the range
INTERVAL (3) : The signal at the maximum steering angle.
- Is waveform within specification?
YES
- Check for poor connection between PCM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Check P/S pressure sensor for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good P/S pressure sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace P/S pressure sensor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
