Repair procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
  2. Remove the front seat assembly. For coupe, refer to SEAT . For sedan, refer to FRONT SEAT .
  3. Remove the seat back cover. For coupe, refer to SEAT BACK COVER REPLACEMENT . For sedan, refer to SEAT BACK COVER REPLACEMENT .
    NOTE: When the front side airbag deployed after a collision, replace the seat back as an assembly.
  4. Loosen the SAB mounting nuts and remove the SAB module.

WARNING: The removed airbag module should be stored in a clean and dry place with the cushion side up.
