Repair procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery terminals (A).

  2. Disconnect the breather hose (A) and then, remove the air cleaner assembly (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)

  3. Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps.
    1. Disconnect the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) connector (A).
    2. Disconnect the ISA (Idle Speed Actuator) connector (B).
    3. Disconnect the CMP (Camshaft position sensor) connector (C).
    4. Disconnect the PCSV hose (D).

    5. Disconnect the OCV connector (A), the alternator connector (B).
    6. Disconnect the compressor connector (C).
    7. Remove the ignition coil harness mounting bolts (D).
    8. Remove the knock sensor bracket (E) and disconnect MAP sensor connector (F).

  4. Remove the oil level gauge.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)

  5. Remove the intake manifold assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 ~ 23.5N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4lb-ft)

  6. To install, reverse the removal order.
    NOTE: Check the intake manifold gasket for cracks or damage. Replace as necessary.
