Component Inspection
- ISCA visual check
- IG KEY "OFF".
- Disassemble ISCA.
- Check for contamination, damage, or sticking of ISCA.
- Check the operating sound when key turns "OFF" to "ON".
- Is ISCA OK?
YES
- Go to "ISCA check " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good ISCA and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ISCA and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- ISCA check
- IG KEY "OFF".
- Disassemble ISCA.
- Measure the resistance between ISCA opening control terminal and sensor power terminal harness connector. (Component side)
- Measure the resistance between ISCA closing control terminal and sensor power terminal harness connector. (Component side)
Specification:
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONItem Specification Opening Coil Resistance (Ω) 11.1 ~ 12.7 [20 °C 68 °F] Closing Coil Resistance (Ω) 14.6 ~ 16.2 [20 °C 68 °F] - Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
- Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage. Check for poor connections, and check the related circuit between ECM and component thoroughly. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good ISCA and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ISCA and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
