Wheel Runout

Jack up the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
Measure the wheel runout with a dial indicator as indicated. See Fig 1.

Replace the wheel if the wheel runout exceeds the limit.

Steel wheel

Radial: 0.6 mm (0.02 in.) (Average of LH & RH)

Axial: 1.0 mm (0.04 in.)

Aluminum wheel

Radial: 0.3 mm (0.012 in.)

Axial: 0.3 mm (0.012 in.)
