Component Inspection

  1. Check Multifunction switch
    1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
    2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
    3. Check combination of turn signal while operating turn signal switch.

      Specification :

      left turn → L/TURN SIGNAL `ON' & R/TURN SIGNAL `OFF'

      right turn → L/TURN SIGNAL `OFF' & R/TURN SIGNAL `ON'

    4. Is the measured current data within specifications?

      YES 

      Go to step  2.

      NO 

      Substitute with a known-good multifunction switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace multifunction switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

  2. Check IPM
    1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
    2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
    3. Substitute with a known-good IPM and Check if the DTC is erased.
    4. Is the DTC erased?

      YES 

      Substitute with a known-good IPM and check for proper operation.

      If the problem is corrected, replace IPM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

      NO 

      Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

      Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
