Component Inspection
- Check "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (PG-B)"
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect the "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR" connector.
- Measure resistance between terminal "1" and "2" of the "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR" connector.
Specification: 245±30 Ω /20°C (68°F)
- Is resistance within specifications?
YES : --> Go to step 2.
NO : --> Replace "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (PG-B)" as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- CHECK PCM
- Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
- Connect "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR" connector.
- Install scan tool and select SIMU-SCAN mode.
- Simulate frequency to "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (PG-B)" signal circuit.
- Is "OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (PG-B)" signal value changed according to simulation frequency?
YES : --> Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO : --> Substitute with a known-good PCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
