Component Inspection

  1. Check FUSE
    1. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
    2. Disconnect stop lamp fuse of FAM and check its state.
    3. Is fuse OK?

      YES 

      Go to  2 "Check FAM".

      NO 

      Replacing the fuse with `stop lamp fuse for test', if normal operating condition is confirmed, Replace `stop lamp fuse for test' with `new stop lamp' and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".

  2. Check FAM
    1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
    2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF", FAM: ON.
    3. Measure the voltage between stop lamp power circuit of FAM (BCM-FE-34) and chassis ground.

      Specification: 12V

    4. Is the measured voltage within the specification?

      YES 

      Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

      Repair or replace if necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

      NO 

      Replacing the FAM with `FAM for test', if normal operating condition is confirmed, Replace `FAM for test' with `new FAM' and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
