Component Inspection

  1. Key "OFF".
  2. Disconnect ECM/PCM connector.
  3. Short terminal 51 of ECM/PCM harness connector to Ground. [A/T]

    Short terminal 70 of ECM/PCM harness connector to Ground. [M/T]

    Specification: MIL ON

  4. Is the Engine MIL lamp lighting normally?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good ECM/PCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECM/PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
    NOTE: There is a memory reset function on scantool that can erase optional parts automatically detected and memorized by ECM/PCM.
    Before or after testing ECM/PCM on the vehicle, use this function to reuse the ECM/PCM

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good Cluster and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Cluster and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
